Photo A Day: February 25 to March 9
It’s been quite a while, but here is the latest update in my project to take one picture every day in 2013. I’ve got several rolls developed, waiting to be posted (and one lost roll that needs to be found and developed), so now that the semester is over and I have some time, there will hopefully be just a flood of photo-related updates. Comics? Don’t much know about that, but I have been doing a lot of writing. Maybe there’s some way to share that here…
Feb 25, 2013. Watson Library. I think this was the second blizzard of three. It kicked in while I was studying at Watson, and I got to walk home among clouds of giant, fat flakes.
February 26, 2013. The alley behind my house, day after a blizzard.
February 27, 2013, the walk up to campus. I guess there must have been class that day since I’d gotten that high up the hill. Yeesh.
February 28, 2013. Science Fiction writer Cory Doctorow delivered a lecture about copyright and acceptable use policies which basically boiled down to you should never buy Apple products because embracing a regime in which corporations control how customers use their products creates some pretty scary security problems, like schools using MacBooks to spy on their students. Which really happens.
March 1, 2013, campus. “If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day so I never have to live without you.” – W. Pooh.
March 2, 2013. As renovations take place the public library has temporarily moved into the old Borders building, because bookstores are dying. That’s why Fabio says “I can’t believe it’s not Borders!” which is a reference to 90s commercials about an alternative to geopolitical demarcations.
March 3, 2013. Sawdust scattered across the snow. I’m guessing somebody was either grinding a stump or chipping branches.March 4, 2013, Eighth Street. Uneven snowmelt.
March 5, 2013. The creepy all-purpose testing center beneath where I pay my rent.March 6, 2013, Memorial Campanile.
March 7, 2013, near Wescoe Hall. Thomas Birdeno smokes and looks classy.
March 8, 2013, Tapas. I don’t remember why we went there. Football season was over… must have been watching a basketball game. Obviously my ongoing struggle with low-light photography continues. (Joanna, Justin, Cassandra.)
March 9, 2013. A foggy day on campus, it appears the snow is going. By way of comparison, here’s the same location twelve days earlier on February 25:
